Leaving the Dells confirmed our impression that this is a premier
tourist trap:
My legs must be a little tired because it felt like I was riding up
hill almost all the way to the first rest stop, which was next to an
old quarry:
At route rap last night, Neal told us about a slight deviation from the
printed route that would take us right by Green Lake. Judith,
Andrew and I took that route and had a wonderful lunch at the marina:
And the view from our table:
We're staying at an old style downtown hotel in Fond du Lac. My
room is huge. I was late for dinner because I underestimated the
distance to Lake Winnebago. This is the narrow end of the lake
and it is still very wide (here you only see the southwest shoreline):
