Miles: 61
Weather: Comfortably cool to start, warm at the end, sunny all day
We left
the resort down the same steep access road we slogged up
yesterday. Then we went out along the golf course
to a leisurely climb out of the canyon, followed by a downhill into
Warm Springs. Here is the Deschutes River from the bridge at the
south end of Warm Springs, looking south:
After following the river for a way, we had this climb, seen from the
top looking at Mt. Jefferson (click on the photo for a larger version):
At the top of the climb, we slipped off the highway through some
farmlands. I caught up with Mark from the staff and we rode into
Madras talking about my work (energy/environmental lawyer) and his
(engineering computer hard disk drives).
And here is the final picture of Mt. Jefferson, taken closer to
Prineville.
