Day 41: London to Brantford, Ontario,
Canada

July 31, 2004
Miles: 76
Sorry, today's scenic photos were rained out. Literally. I
left the camera in my seat bag until I handed it off to Pam at the SAG.
We started in rain, never heavy but with the wet roads and the spray
from other wheels, it was wet. Luckily we didn't have any gravel
or dirt roads but even so my bike was pretty gritty. Pam's
parents, sister (Melanie), brother-in-law (Bob) and niece and nephews
(Amanda, Aaron, Nathan and Jamison) met me at the SAG. Mike's web
site has a photo of Jamison standing in a puddle at the bottom of a
slide in the play area. Staff says they had rain on this day last
year but the SAG area was much more crowded because we were sharing the
shelter area with several local softball teams. This year there
were no games going on.
Here is about all anyone on the
road saw of my Canada jersey, this shot courtesy of Melanie:
Once I got in and got my bike
hosed off (with help from Bob and the kids),
Pam and I had a nap and then drove up to Bob and Melanie's for
barbecue. The kids have been tracking our progress on this map
that Pam sent to them:
