Wrap
Up
It was a week of great scenery, a darn
good workout, old and new friends. The weather couldn't have been
much better, just a bit cooler, perhaps.
If you think you've got the legs and lungs for it, I highly recommend
this ride.
Support isn’t quite at the level of America By Bicycle. There is
no sweep rider. As you get closer to the day’s destination, the
SAG vans will go on in. If you're going to hang at the end of the
pack,
you should be ready to fix your own flats and other minor mechanical
problems.
This ride seems to attract very hard corps cyclists. That could
be simply because Deborah and Brian run several double-centuries and
have lots of contact with those folks. There was a lot of talk
about ultra-long rides and races. Some were using this ride as
hill
climbing training for races and rides later in the season. I'm
more interested in
taking in the scenery than speeding to the next destination in a
paceline. If you're of a like mind, you'll likely find yourself
at the back of the pack as the day progresses.
