I managed to do some shopping too--a Seven Cycles jersey in the newer colors.  Land's End has an "Inlet" store where you can get a really good deal on a shirt with someone else's monogram.
From the weather stories from the weekend, it looks like were were pretty lucky to have as little actual (as opposed to forecasted) weather to deal with in our last few days.  Even so, this was probably 2 to 3 times the weather we had to deal with on the twice as long North ride.  I'm now a bit more savvy about rain clothing and equipment and will be ready for just about anything the next time around.  (Memo to weather gods: that is not a request.)
